Entry Requirements

You will need to demonstrate level 2 in English and be qualified in the subject you wish to teach, and have access to 100 teaching practice hours. If you’ve completed level 3 and level 4, this is the perfect way to extend your skills as a trainee teacher.

You may, however, be eligible to complete level 5 without completing level 3 or level 4, depending on your classroom experience and existing qualifications – please contact us to discuss your exact circumstances.

What Qualifications Will I Get?

On successful completion of this course students will achieve a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) Level 5 qualification (City & Guilds 120 Credits).

The Diploma in Education and Training (DET) Level 5 course is aimed at teachers who want to teach in further education (FE) colleges. Additionally, this course is suitable for new teachers working in other sectors including Adult and Community Education, trainers in the public and private sector as well as those working with 14 – 19 year olds in a vocational setting.

It will enable you to become an effective, critical and professional teacher or trainer with welldeveloped knowledge, skills and understanding of your role and the sector you are operating within.

Delivery Model

This course combines face-to-face lessons in the classroom, remote delivery via Teams, and one-to-one tutorials
