The Jamealah Bellydancers were founded in the year 2000 by Myfanwy, a professional bellydance soloist, newly returned to Darwin from studying with other dance groups and teachers in Australia.
This small ‘one day a week’ class has since flourished into a fully fledged bellydance school that has been running for almost 2 decades. Boasting multiple instructors, the Jamealah Bellydance school runs throughout the year offering tuition from basic beginners through to advanced levels in a variety of formats and at various venues around Darwin.
Learn to play the Arabic Drum also called the 'doumbek', ‘tabla’ or ‘darabouka’. In this class you will learn the basics of Middle Eastern rhythms and by the end of the term you will be playing together and sounding great!
