Have you got a new embroidery machine? Need help with all the questions about stabilizers. Getting started can be overwhelming but with a little help and information it can be so much fun.
Anne will be teaching you how to get professional results for your embroidery project. She will show choosing the appropriate stabilizers, proper hooping, choosing the correct needle will all play an important part in the final result of your chosen design.
You will learn about all the different stabilizers available, how to mark your fabric for design placement, how to choose a design suitable for the fabric and the correct stabilizer for every project.
Anne has tried and experimented with most every type of embroidery technique and will include tricks and hints to help make your embroidering fun and easy.
Sewing is fun when you get the results you want. Our classes are small and feature personalized instruction. You will be encouraged to do your best while enjoying successful experiences.
Because each student cuts and sews at a different rate, and most projects take more than class time, please expect some work will need to be done at home between classes.
In this class we’ll make an heirloom sampler, large enough to use as a yoke in a pull on shirt, or nightgown. You will learn a number of French heirloom sewing techniques: using entredeux, hemstitching with a wing needle, lace insertions….
In each of the four classes you will learn a bit about one style including the materials used and the most common stitches. Are you a cross stitcher who has always wondered about trying different embroidery disciplines Or maybe you are someone who stitched years ago but hasn't done for a long time...
Learn what you need to know about threads, stabilizers and embroidery in general. This is a good place to start if you have a new embroidery machine or if you have a machine still in the box .... pull it out and come on in for some fun learning.Â
Learn Sashiko Embroidery:Â A one day two hour course from 10am-12pm. $75+tax Materials included. Sashiko is a beautiful style of traditional Japanese embroidery. Sashiko uses a running stitch method to create pattern and designs inspired by nature.
