Rebecca Rose founded Becca Buttons back in 2012 before starting at The University of Huddersfield studying Textiles with Surface Design. During her time at University.
And completing her Enterprise Placement Year, within the four years Becca Buttons as a small business has developed into selling bespoke, heavily embroidered furniture and interior designs.
At this workshop you will learn the basic stitches to begin with. We will then look at the kit you will be given and make a start together so that you feel confident to take it home and complete.
We’ll spend time learning stitches and techniques required for the specific project, and then we’ll spend some time stitching together and in a socially distanced way!
This workshop will teach you the basic sewing skills needed to create an inspiring and empowering protest badge to decorate/mend/ personalise your clothing.
Hand embroidery, and other sewing skills can be used as a mindfulness tool in our hectic lives. If you struggle to switch your brain off after work, or think you waste too much time mindlessly scrolling through Instagram you must try hand embroidery as tool to ween yourself off technology!
This course not only teaches you skills in Embroidery & Garment Construction but also how to relate these to your English studies. This course shows you how to focus on Embroidery & Garment Construction and realise progression goals related to your future interests and aspirations.
