Those who attend this course will learn basic lifesaving first aid techniques as well as being able to deal with minor injury and illness in the workplace and will receive a nationally recognised and compliant awarding body certificate.
This course is a mixture of theory and practical training – all of which is based on the Ofqual regulated qualification units ‘Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work’ and ‘Recognition and Management of Injury or Illness in the Workplace’. This course complies with the minimum guided learning hours required by the Skills for Health Assessment Principles for first aid qualifications.
Those who attend this course will need to be able to go to floor level to undertake CPR.
Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.
This 1 day course includes lectures, demonstrations and practical training (including CPR and AED demonstrations).
Delegates on this course will learn how to take the correct actions in an emergency situation, how to perform basic life support (including using external defibrillation) and how to deal with choking, seizures, shock and bleeding. Learners are continually assessed and will also need to pass a written multiple-choice test paper.
