The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary or community activities, to provide basic first aid to people in a variety of emergency first aid situations.

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

Keep Safe Solution’s EFAW course is relatively short in duration, lasting just one day – meaning your fully qualified emergency first aiders can return to work to undertake their regular duties with minimal disruption to your business.

Having the correct first aid provision in the workplace is not only a legal requirement, it is incredibly important for your safety and that of your employees.

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is for people who deal with emergency first aid at work, enabling them to be workplace emergency first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for delivery of Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses.

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work has one unit, comprising of seven modules, these are:

  • Module 1. Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Module 2. Ability to assess an incident
  • Module 3. Ability to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Module 4. Ability to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Module 5. Ability to provide frst aid to a casualty with external bleeding
  • Module 6. Ability to provide first aid to a casualty in shock
  • Module 7. Ability to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
