Emergency First Aid

The Emergency First Aid Training Course aims to provide delegates with basic theoretical and practical skills in current First Aid. It is designed for employers who wish to provide the highest standard of first aid care to employees, contractors and the public. This course is non accredited but follows the same syllabus as the accredited EFAW and includes the safe use of AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators).

Our Emergency First Aid training course follows exactly the same syllabus as the Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (EFAW) but excludes the theory test, its been developed for small organisations who feel they need trained first aid personnel but have no requirement for them to be accredited at this level.

Course Content:

• Aims and principles of first aid.
• What to do in an emergency.
• Recognition of emergency illness.
• Asphyxia – care of a choking adult, child & infant.
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation – including the safe use of AED’s.
• Physiological Shock.
• Assessment & treatment of wounds & bleeding.
• Assessment & treatment of burns & scolds.
• Treating an unconscious casualty.
• The Recovery Position.
• Treatment of the casualty in seizure.
• Cross infection & hygiene in first aid.
• The First Aid box & incident recording
