Mission
The mission of the Emergency Medical Technician TCC Program is to provide a sequence of courses that prepare qualified individuals to enter the profession with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for professional entry-level competence and continued growth throughout their careers. By integrating academics and applied career preparation, this program will produce competent entry-level EMT’s in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.
The program will offer learning opportunities for students to develop the professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The programs curriculum will emphasize a combination of the didactic, skills laboratory, and clinical instruction to provide a learning structure to fulfill the expected student outcomes, program goals, accreditation requirements, and community needs.

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program provides learning experiences that enable the student to acquire and assimilate the necessary technical competencies to function effectively as an EMT responding to medical emergencies in the pre-hospital environment.
This course is designed to give students basic knowledge of how to treat patients. Topics covered include patient assessment, pre-hospital treatment of medical and trauma emergencies, and an introduction to pre-hospital emergency medicine.
