Emergency Response And Crisis Management WSQ Training Course

Basic emergency response training courses prepare CERT members with the knowledge and application skills to function as a member of an emergency response team in order to implement adequate emergency response skills during an emergency incident in buildings.

The CERT (Company Emergency Response Team) Scheme was expanded to include a broader group of Public and Industrial premises with the amendments to the Fire Safety Act pertaining to Emergency Preparedness (EP) measures and updates to Fire Safety Managers (FSM) in Singapore on 25th May 2021.

These CERT courses include:

• Implement Incident Management Process. Equipping individuals with the proper knowledge to understand and interpret the correct course of action after determining the severity of an incident while managing internal and external stakeholders. They will also be competent to conduct a post-emergency evaluation.
• Respond to Fire Incident in Workplace. Learners will be equipped with skills to be first responders to emergency accidents, implementing emergency response skills in the event of fire-incidents effectively and safely.
• Respond to Fire Emergency in Buildings. Learners will be equipped to understand related legislations and guidelines regarding emergency response. They will be trained to assess incidents and execute rescue and evacuation exercises if deemed necessary. They will be well equipped to utilise various fire & hazmat equipment as well as the usage of fire protection systems in the building.
• Respond to Fire & Hazmat Emergency. Individuals that go through the course will be able to prepare and plan the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to respond to fire and hazmat incidents at the workplace. They will be competent to take charge and contain the incident while assisting with authorities to perform search and rescue operations if necessary.

The practical skills acquired by individuals who go through CERT training in Singapore are to be able to perform quick dispatch and arrival, initiate an adequate emergency response system, assessment of the scene of incident, update relevant authorities about the situation and procure the necessary resources to respond to the situation.

They can also notify and provide government authorities and neighbouring premises with the necessary details and next-steps of action if required while containing any threats in accordance to emergency response plans and safety procedures.
