This combined course focuses on confining small emergencies, operating as part of an emergency control organisation, and leading an emergency control organisation.
PUAFER008 – Confine small emergencies in a facility, equips participants with the necessary skills to respond effectively to small emergencies within a facility and to confine them to a manageable level.
It covers various aspects such as identifying emergencies, assessing risks, implementing emergency response procedures, using emergency equipment, and communicating effectively during emergency situations.
PUAFER005 – Operate as part of an emergency control organisation, focuses on the role of individuals within an emergency control organisation. Participants will learn how to effectively contribute as part of a team in emergency situations.
Topics covered include understanding emergency response plans, implementing emergency control measures, coordinating resources, communicating with team members and external agencies, and complying with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
PUAFER006 – Lead an emergency control organisation, is designed for individuals who have leadership or managerial responsibilities within an emergency control organisation. It provides the necessary skills to lead and coordinate emergency response efforts.
The course covers topics such as developing emergency response plans, establishing command and control structures, delegating tasks, coordinating resources and personnel, communicating effectively, and evaluating and reviewing emergency response procedures.
Course Delivery
Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities.
Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.
Outcomes
Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).
Entry Requirements
All candidates must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).
At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains booking notification and course information (Course Brochure).
This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.
There are no pre-requisites for the Emergency Response Skill Set, however if you were to do the Chief Fire Warden course separately, students must have successfully completed PUAFER005 – Operate as part of an emergency control organisation before enrolling.

Commonly referred to as the Fire Warden course, this unit has been designed for individuals who are required to implement an emergency response as specified in the facility emergency procedures or specified by a person at a higher level in the emergency control organisation (ECO).
This unit covers the competency required to confine small workplace emergencies. Small workplace emergencies may include such incidents as a small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher; or a chemical spill that can be controlled using workplace personal protective clothing
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a vehicle loading crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) of 10 metre tonnes or more. Vehicle loading crane means a crane mounted on a vehicle for loading and unloading the vehicle.
This course provides an understanding of emergencies, building evacuation and first response including: The location of the buildings’ escape routes A procedure for conducting members of the public to an exit and then to the designated assembly area
