This course is designed for members of the Emergency Control Organisation (wardens) in factories, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, offices or other workplaces.
Emergency Control Organisations (ECO’s) are defined in the Australian Standards. In this course participants are assisted in understanding their position within the emergency response structure, and the importance of a team response to effectively control emergencies.
Workplace emergencies such as fires, bomb threats, chemical spills and other emergencies are discussed, along with the appropriate considerations and responses.
Site communications and procedures for evacuation of personnel to nominated muster points are discussed and explained.
People should receive training for emergency warden if they aspire to be, or are currently serving as:
a member of an Emergency Control Organisation;
a member of an Emergency Planning Organisation.

Pre-entry Requirements
Fitness to Participate and Language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills are required in order to communicate, complete, undertake written and practical assessment activities. If you have any concerns regarding the LLN requirements, please contact 1300 886 208 for assistance.
Certification
As we are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) our participants will be awarded a Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment on the successful completion of the training and assessment for this course.

Refresher Training
As per AS 3745 – 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities, skills retention activities for members of the ECO (including wardens) must be undertaken at intervals no greater than 6 months, and shall;
Be determined by the EPC (Emergency Planning Committee)
Include revision of roles and responsibilities
Include instruction of the operation of the communications systems (if installed)
Skills retention activities may also include but not necessarily be limited to table-top exercises and evacuation exercises for the ECO.

In order to improve outcomes, all candidates in the Basic Scaffolding course will be required to show completion of RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights unit. This can be completed through Breight Education prior to the start of the basic scaffold course.Â
