This course is a unit of competency in our nationally accredited Diploma in leadership and management course. Experts agree that emotional intelligence is a key requirement for successful leaders and managers and it is lacking in many Australian workplaces.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to be self-aware and to self-regulate. Emotionally intelligent leaders and managers know their strengths and challenges and how to achieve outcomes.

Just like IQ is a measure of intelligence, Emotional Quotient (EQ) is a way to measure how well you interact with people. The more EQ the better a leader is able to recognise emotions in themselves and others, and how they manage these emotional states to motivate and have better relationships.
