This course looks at the 5 aspects of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and how they are relevant in the workplace both face to face and in hybrid/remote teams. We explore the 5 aspects of EQ and how they apply to us. And those we interact with.
The first aspect of EQ: self-awareness
EQ is a fundamental skill of any inspirational leader. Without EQ you will be unable to get the best out of yourself, or your team, or operate at your most effective.
By the end of this masterclass you will know the five elements of EQ, you will know where you are in relation to mastering the first component and you will be able to apply it to remote working as well as face to face working.
The second aspect of EQ: self-regulation
Self regulation is the ability to control or redirect disruptive impulses and moods, the propensity to suspend judgement – to think before acting. By the end of this course you will understand what is meant by self regulation, you will be able to regulate yourself more and you will have a greater understanding of how to improve in this vital skill area.
The third aspect of EQ: motivation
If there is one trait virtually all effective leaders have, it is motivation. They are driven to achieve beyond expectations – their own and everyone else’s. Motivation is a passion to work for reasons that go beyond money or status.
It’s a strong drive to achieve. It’s optimism, even in the face of failure. It’s commitment and perseverance. This course will look at strategies to maintain high motivation and how to increase the motivation of those around you.
The fourth aspect of EQ: empathy
By the end of this course you will understand a lot more about empathy and how it ties into the other aspects of EQ. You will feel more able to use your empathy to get great results in person and when dealing remotely with people.
The fifth aspect of EQ: social skill
The first three components of emotional intelligence are self-management skills. The last two, empathy and social skills concern a person’s ability to manage relationships with others. Social skill is not as simple as it sounds.
It is often thought that social skill is just being friendly, but it is more like friendliness with a purpose: moving people in the direction you desire. By the end of this course you will be more aware of the power of social skill in the work place and more able to use social skills to your advantage and that of everyone else.
What delegates will take away:
A deeper understanding of their own reactions and how to prevent them causing negativity to those around them
A deeper understanding of how others respond psychologically to situations
Techniques to improve self awareness
Techniques to be able to control our emotional responses
Techniques to be able to control others’ emotional responses
Techniques to build trust quickly and deepen our understanding of those around us
Techniques to increase motivation or tackle lack of motivation in ourselves and others.
Who’s it for?
Any one at all
