Program Description:
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program has been designated for students with little, to no knowledge of the English language. The ESL program offers an introduction to the English language and aims to improve the student’s understanding, proficiency, and confidence.
ESL students can customize their desired English language pathway with highly qualified English instructors. To be placed in the appropriate ESL level, applicants can apply using a Duolingo or IELTS English test that was conducted within the last 6 months of the application date.
Based on the results, the applicant will be placed in the foundation or intermediate level. At the completion of each semester, the student will receive an assessment to determine advancement to the next ESL level, into the EAP program, or into a Diploma/Certificate program at St. Clair College.

This intensive non-credit program is designed for people who wish to improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Small groups ensure that each learner receives individualized attention. Instruction focuses on language acquisition.
This class is available for those who are more capable of the English language but would like to further their understanding. It helps participants develop the much-needed English abilities that are required in Canada to further their careers, education, and home life.
Winnipeg Global Education College’s CELPIP course is designed to efficiently and strategically prepare students for the CELPIP teaching them both the English language and CELPIP test taking skills.
Our General English program is designed for students who want to focus on communication and conversation skills, and who do not plan to go on to further studies at an English-speaking institution.
English classes are offered from beginners to advanced level.
