The One On One English Tutoring Program Offers:
FREE weekly sessions to improve speaking, literacy skills, reading, writing, and/or test prep based on the student’s level and stated goals
Individualized lessons from trained volunteers to help students gain the skills necessary to be independent in a new country
A tailored schedule to fit the student’s and tutor’s availability
Multiple meeting spaces at 181 Brackett Street
Focus on real-life situations to provide students with practical experience
Learning Works is committed to strengthening the communities we serve by providing free community-based education programs for children, adults, and families throughout Southern Maine. Our primary goal is to support academic and personal success for our neighbors who lack resources and/or fall outside traditional educational structures.

Learning Works has focused on building a strong community since its founding. First, with our students, we build relationships, safety, and a sense of belonging as a core educational strategy. Second, with our team, we create a strong culture and deliver programs as a collective. Third, in our cities and towns, we work continually to ensure our programs meet the community’s evolving needs.
The Ideal Program uses the General English course. The General English course has 8 levels that focus on improving conversation skills. Each level takes 16 weeks to complete.
This program focuses on Speaking, Listening, Pronunciation, Vocabulary, and Reading and Writing. Has levels ranging from beginner to advanced, and includes test preparation courses. ?
