The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High-Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence. It includes inspecting and testing elevating work platform, assessing job and work requirements, planning work and setting up for lift, and carrying out elevation. It also includes implementing planned hazard controls and strategies and packing up work platforms after operations.
Work is performed with limited supervision, and with the duty of care responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes.This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to load and unload equipment independently.
To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisted by someone who has completed the RIIHAN308F Load and Unload Plant or equivalent.

The Use Hand and Power Tools Course is conducted at our training centre in Canning Vale or at your workplace with our Qualified Trainers/Assessors.The course is a half a day course.

Our aim with this course is to provide the participants with the skills and the knowledge to safely operate an elevated work platform (EWP), and which may lead to the assessments required by the relevant State or Territory to issue a High Risk Work Licence for operating a Boom-type EWP.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to recognise and assess conditions that require gas testing; test the working atmosphere using an electronic test apparatus and interpret the results to determine if it is safe for the proposed job activity.Â
