The Yellow Card Training Program has been designed for people needing to develop the skills and knowledge required to operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs or commonly known as EWPs).
The course will provide training in the safe use of various types of elevated work platforms including boom type MEWPs with boom length under 11 metres.
Participants may complete singular or multiple modules, depending on the type of EWP they will be operating.Our Elevated Work Platform Training Courses offer comprehensive hands-on training with fully Nationally accredited Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia (EWPA) trainers.
Students can expect to learn the skills required to safely operate various types of elevating work platforms. We schedule courses Monday to Friday, bookings Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.
On completion of the training, you will receive a EWPA Nationally Recognised Yellow Plastic Card with photo I.D. This will have all the Classes of the courses in which you are deemed to be competent.
Course Outline
Plan work – Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures
Conduct routine checks – Check logbook, EWP structural integrity, safety and communication equipment
Set up – Check ground suitability, apply appropriate hazard prevention/control measures
Operate EWP – Use relevant plant movements, use best mobile practice and respond to unplanned/unsafe situations, use of riggers and stabilizers
Shut down – Correctly stow EWP and safety equipment, conduct routine post-operational checks, clean-up workplace

In every workplace, workers are exposed to day to day activities which involve some kind of manual handling, some more hazardous than others. These tasks are a common cause of injury in the workplace, and as such, understanding how to undertake these tasks safely is imperative.
This unit of competency is targeted to candidates who are required to act as emergency workers in the event of an incident in a confined space. Participants will be equipped with skills and knowledge to undertake confined space rescue.
To provide applicants with the practical skills and knowledge to work safely on scaffolding higher than 2 metres in accordance with Safe Work Australia's National Standard for Licencing Persons. All training and assessments are carried out by our own trainers and assessors.
This course provides training in the safe operation and maintenance of breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere as defined by AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
