This course focuses on the OSHA Excavation standard and on the safety and health aspects of excavation and trenching. Participants are introduced to practical soil mechanics and its relationship to the stability of shored and unshored slopes and walls of excavations.

This course focuses on the OSHA Excavation standard and on the safety and health aspects of excavation and trenching. Participants are introduced to practical soil mechanics and its relationship to the stability of shored and unshored slopes and walls of excavations.
Various types of shoring (wood timbers and hydraulic) are covered. Testing methods are demonstrated and a field exercise is conducted. At the conclusion of the course, participant will be able to identify compliance with OSHA standards 29 CFR 1926.650 through 29 CFR 1926.652.

Trenching and Excavation courses is offered by Division One Safety Institute.Our training modules are designed to allow employee training when time is available. We will help you develop a customized safety training strategy, which will include industry, OSHA and regulatory required training.
This training explains the hazards of a wide range of situations surrounding excavation and trenching, including unstable excavations and trenching, potential movement of soil, etc. Students are taught proper digging techniques, safety precautions, access, and egress, excavated materials.
Trenching and Excavation Safety training is offered by AGC Colorado. The AGC Safety Council provides a forum for the training of current safety and health issues affecting the construction industry.
Excavation Competent Person training is offered by National Trench Safety, LLC. National Trench Safety’s training courses are an excellent way to keep your employees safe.
OSHA requires that any company involved in excavation, trenching, shoring, sheeting, or underground construction activities have a "Competent Person" supervising the job. This competent person is responsible for overseeing underground activities, excavation safety.
