• Recognize the three methods of protecting employees from cave-ins
• Name three hazards to people working in excavation areas and ways to eliminate them
• Describe the function of a competent worker at an excavation site
• Describe the requirements placed on employers by the General Duty Clause
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the safe use of equipment associated with gas welding and cutting
• Demonstrate an understanding of the safe use of equipment associated with arc welding and cutting properly
• Describe the various methods of ventilation and protection used in various working environments
• Describe the dangers associated with both chemical and physical agents when welding and cutting and Rescue certification responsibilities.
Tower Safety meets or exceeds applicable sections of ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Z359, Z490, ANSI 10.48, and OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), TIA 222- H and TIA 322.

Excavation and Trenching training is offered by Safety Consultants USA. Safety Consultants USA now offers the convenience of sending your employees to our Safety Computer Training Lab, with or without an appointment, between the hours of 9am and 3pm Monday – Friday.

Trenching and Excavations training is offered by Chess Safety. Chess provides in-person safety training, at your facility, and focusing on the real-world exposures and hazards your employees face. We will help you determine what training different employees need.
Participants are taught from OSHA’s excavation standard (29 CFR 1926-Subpart P) which requires workers in trenches and excavations to be protected. Can-ins are perhaps the most feared trenching hazard; but other potentially fatal hazards exist, including asphyxiation, toxic fumes, drowning.
