Falls continue to be the leading cause of work-related deaths in the construction industry. Over 500 fall related deaths occur each year. Fall protection training is an important part of a worker’s overall safety training.
This first step in reducing or eliminating fall hazards is that workers must be able to identify fall hazards and decide the best course of action to protect all workers in the area. In construction, workers at a height of greater than 6 feet above the next walking/working surface, or workers working over a dangerous equipment or machinery, is at risk and needs to have fall protection in place.
This height is reduced to 4 feet for general industry workers. Proper fall protection training will go a long way in achieving fewer fall related accidents.
3-E Safety Services’ Fall Protection training course will show a variety of methods to safeguard against falls at height, including how to properly use various forms of fall protection equipment, as well as provide guidance on how managers and foremen can ensure a safe workplace for their workers.
