In this studio class, students will find and nurture their passion for filmmaking. In the film program, students shoot their own films with Canon DSLR cameras and learn how to direct or act in original scenes.

Students experiment with lighting, sound and audio design, and camera techniques inside our own Studio 345 studio. Using industry-standard video equipment and software, such as Adobe Premiere, students learn to turn their content into a dynamic and high-quality production.

  • Nicole Driscoll is a filmmaker and photographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina. By examining life’s smaller moments, Driscoll reflects on her own trauma and memories to connect to her viewers through shared experiences. Her projects have been included in galleries and festivals such as Goodyear Arts, Joedance Film Festival, Brooklyn Underground Festival, and Donate Hollywood Film Festival. In 2014, Driscoll developed Films on Tap, a film festival that pairs independent short films with locally brewed beer. Driscoll currently works as a teaching artist at Studio 345, an afterschool program for at-risk youth, and a freelancer in the greater Charlotte community.
