The ICB Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks course is the third topic required for the ICB Advanced Level programme. It is generally recommended that this subject is combined with the fourth and final subject – ICB Research theory and practice.

  • Module 11 IAS10 – Events after the reporting period
  • Module 12 IAS18 – Revenue
  • Module 13 IAS19 – Employee benefits
  • Module 14 IAS21 – The effects of changes in foreign exchange rates
  • Module 15 IAS33 – Earnings per share
  • Module 16 IAS12 – Income taxes
  • Module 17 IAS8 – Accounting policies, changes in accounting estimates and errors
  • Module 18 IAS7 – Statement of cash flows
  • Module 19 Consolidated financial statements
  • Module 20 Financial reporting requirements of the Companies Act 2008

What You Will Learn:

  • The student is introduced to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which are issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). These reporting standards are increasingly used worldwide, including in South Africa and dozens of other countries. The broader a company’s international activities, the greater the effect of IFRS.
  • The purpose of this course is to set out the principles and conceptual issues of IFRS.

 

Entrance Requirements:

  • Hold a National Diploma in Technical Financial Accounting, or
  • Assessed as competent in Financial Accounting: Upper Intermediate Level learning areas
  • Students have to register separately with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) as well as with Aldes Training Academy
