Originally formed as King County Fire District No. 4, Shoreline Fire Department has served the community since 1939. The Department covers a service area of approximately 14-square miles and a population of approximately 57,000 citizens.
We employ more than 100 full-time personnel who provide various services for the divisions that make-up the Department: fire suppression, emergency medical services, administration and support, fire prevention, public information and education, training, and facilities and maintenance.
The course teaches the fundamentals of fire alarm technology and offers a hands-on training experience with various manufacturer systems. Course attendees will receive a step-by-step checklist for inspection and testing of fire alarm systems.

The Basic Firefighter Training Course (BFTC) is a 10 week (428 hour) course beginning on a Friday with Day 0 for orientation and overview. The course meets or exceeds the standards in NFPA 1001 (current), as well as NFPA 1072 (current).
Fire Safety Training is offered by Harris Safety Management & Training. HSM&T can provide on-site training at your office, in the field, or at our training facility.
