Target Group
This course is designed for all staff in the industrial, commercial and public sectors, who do not have specific fire training or designated fire responsibilities.
To provide general staff with an awareness of the nature of fire and how it may be prevented, and an understanding and practise of the action to be taken in case of fire.

Examination
On completion delegates will have an awareness of the potential causes of fire and how to control the spread of fire, and the ability to locate and operate the correct extinguishing
medium.
A course certificate will be issued to all delegates completing the training
Course Contents
The course will focus on:
The Nature of Fire - the hazards to life and property / how it starts and spreads.
Fire Prevention - the application of safe practice and "good housekeeping" in the workplace / risk awareness.
Implementation of the Emergency Plan - discovery of a fire and raising the alarm
Understanding the evacuation procedures and escape routes
Understanding the use of fire extinguishers and fire control equipment
Practical Exercises - selection and use of fire extinguishers

The aim of this course is to provide those who are appointed as Fire Wardens on construction sites with an understanding of their role and responsibilities and some general Fire Safety knowledge.
This course sets a good foundation for your Responsible Person/s and appointed Fire Marshals with the course underpinning your Fire Safety Arrangements, which under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order you should have established.
This course in basic fire safety will raise awareness of the dangers of fire, the steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of a fire starting and what to do in the event of fire.
The consequences of ignoring fire safety regulations aren’t worth considering. With our Fire Safety course, you can better understand the Fire Safety Regulations (2005), so your team know what to do and where to go in the event of a fire.
