Who can take the Fire Awareness Extinguisher course?
The safe operation of a portable fire extinguisher is your first line of defense in protecting people and property in the event of a fire.
The main objective of our Fire Awareness Extinguisher training is to inform, demonstrate as well as provide confidence to employees in the safe and effective use of fire extinguishers in the workplace.
Fires start small therefore, they can be extinguished by well-trained, knowledgeable employees using the proper equipment.

Upon successful completion of the Fire Awareness Extinguisher course, participants should be able to:
Understand the issue of fire safety addressed by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) legislation in Canada and identify the fire safety responsibilities of employers and those of workers
Describe safe work practices therefore reducing the risk of fire
Know what to do in the event of a fire
Recognize fire-related situations in which the use of a fire extinguisher is appropriate and situations in which it is best to evacuate rather than try to put out the fire
Identify the different types of extinguishers as well as classes of fire and the proper use for each type of extinguisher
Know how to use a fire extinguisher as well as
Understand the maintenance and servicing requirements related to fire extinguishers
Through our CPO-approved Working at Heights Training course, our goal is to provide motivation, knowledge and strategy to dramatically decrease the occurrences of workplace accidents .
