During several mock crashes over the years, staff from Mdewakanton Public Safety trained with the Minnesota State Patrol, the Shakopee police and fire departments, Allina Health, North Memorial Medical Center’s Air Care helicopter, and the Prior Lake police and fire departments.

The combined program (750 hours/25 Credits) is designed to provide the Fire Fighter Minimum Standards training followed by the EMT training. The Fire Fighter Minimum Standards program involves 450 student contact hours (15 Credits) of training.
This course is designed for individuals who work within the healthcare environment, and will focus on fire and life safety issues that are typically found within that environment.
This course satisfies the Advanced Firefighting training requirements of STCW Code Section A-VI/3 and 46 CFR 11.201(h), and 11.303(a). Upon meeting the minimum standard of competence in advanced firefighting, a trainee will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties.
