Individuals in the following positions will be trained:
Safety Trainers
Account Managers
All Administration Support Staff
This training will be provided to staff as part of the new Employee Orientation Training within 2 weeks of hire.
Training will include:
An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard
Safety training Ottawas’ accessible customer service plan
How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
How to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person
What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty in accessing Safety Training Ottawas’ goods and services
Staff will also be trained when changes are made to our accessible customer service plan.
The Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation (O. Reg. 297/13) requires employers to ensure that workers on construction projects successfully complete a working at heights training program if they may use specified methods of fall protection.
The course will provide designated staff with sufficient understanding of fire, how to apply the emergency plan procedures, identify hazards and supervise the safe evacuation of company personnel.
To develop the management skills needed by company officers to accomplish assigned tactics at structure fires
In this course participants will go through a theory, short test as well as practical portion. During the practical we do have a simulator that we use for participants to practical how to clear a fire with an extinguisher.
In this course the attendees will learn about fire safety, when and how to use an extinguisher, and will have the opportunity to extinguish a real fire in an approved fire pan.
This course equips participants with a basic understanding of fire safety and fire extinguishers. Participants will learn fire safety basics, including the combustion process and the different classes of fires.
