Fire Marshal Train the Trainer

On completion of this course, learners will be a qualified trainer in this subject and should know and understand the following:

• The role and responsibilities of a fire marshal
  Fully understand the role and responsibilities of being a fire marshal

• Relevant fire safety legislation and guidelines 
  Learn and understand the relevant legislation such as The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

• Preventing & fighting fires 
  Understand the basics of how a fire starts and learn how to prevent and fight fires with both fixed installations and portable extinguishers

• Fire hazards and causes of fires
  Learn what causes a fire to be able to identify fire hazards.

• Emergency protocol
  Understand what to do when a fire breaks out and what equipment you would need to comply with legislation.

• Fire alarms, fire drills and safety training
  Understand that fire alarms, fire drills and safety training are key components of fire prevention.

• Fire risk assessment
  Learn how to plan and complete a fire risk assessment to comply with legislation

• Categories of fire and how they differ
  Learn about the categories and classes of fires and what causes them

• Colour codes on fire extinguishers
  Learn the different types and colours of fire extinguishers and the different situations in which to use them.

• Reporting
  Learn how to correctly report on incidents that happen to comply with the relevant legislation. Regular fire safety inspections and keeping a fire log,

• Teaching methods
  Deliver sessions with different teaching methods to suit the classroom

• Learning styles
  Understand different learning styles and when is the best time to use them

• Retain information
  How people retain information

  Evaluate appropriately, and give and receive feedback
