The Central Piedmont Fire Protection Technology curriculum is designed to provide you with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors.
It also provides a sound foundation for continuous higher learning in fire protection, administration, and management.
What you will learn
Coursework includes classroom and laboratory exercises to introduce you to various aspects of fire protection. You will learn technical and administrative skills such as hydraulics, hazardous materials, arson investigation, fire protection safety, fire suppression management, law, and code.
Additionally, you are required to take a humanities or fine arts elective. Each fire protection technology course has laid out specific learning outcomes (PDF document).
At the completion of the fire protection technology program, you will be able to:
explain the history, development, methods, systems, and regulations as they apply to the fire protection field
discuss the development and maintenance of fire prevention programs, educational programs, and inspection programs
explain the importance of firefighting strategies to the fire service
identify and apply fundamentals of fire and building codes and procedures to conduct an inspection, review fire and building codes, write inspection reports, identify hazards, plan reviews, complete sketches, and other related functions

Fire Prevention Safety training course is offered by Hyperion Safety Services. Hyperion offers comprehensive assessment tools consisting of  multi-level technical training modules designed to improve personnel skills and knowledge levels.
Employees should receive our basic training session annually. This meets the requirements of OSHA 1910.157 and will provide information and instruction to ensure they understand the proper procedure to follow if faced with a fire emergency.
Fire Prevention training is offered by ACC Environmental Consultants. ACC Environmental Consultants can customize an E&;HS Training as well Safety Program development to meet the needs of your employees.
Airport Fire training is offered by Fire Training Research Center for all skill level. If you need help determining which courses are appropriate for your staff, or if you want to discuss opportunities for custom curriculum, our training professionals are available to assist you.
OSHA regulations require employers to provide an educational program to ensure that employees are familiar with using a fire extinguisher to effectively and safely put out small or incipient-stage fires.
