The Fire Safety Adviser course is run over 3 days. This course will provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to assume the role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Adviser in accordance with the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
The course will also provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to advise on appropriate emergency planning and be familiar with all aspects of building fire safety.
This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Course Structure:
To receive this qualification you must complete;
PUAFER001 Identify, prevent and report potential facility emergency situations
PUAFER002 Ensure facility emergency prevention procedures, systems and processes are implemented
PUAFER003 Manage and monitor facility emergency procedures, equipment and other resources
PUAFER004 Respond to facility emergencies
PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation
PUAFER007 Manage an emergency control organisation
PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility

This is refresher training for the Fire Safety Adviser qualification which reassesses the eight units of competency within the original course.
This course covers the competencies required to confine small workplace emergencies. Small workplace emergencies may include such incidents as a small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher.
