The course covers demonstrating the use of a portable fire extinguisher, a fire hose reel and a fire blanket. All work in this area must be completed in accordance with relevant legislative, industry, customer and organisational requirements, including work health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
AWCC’s comprehensive Fire Awareness and Demonstration of Fire Equipment practical training course will provide participants with the knowledge, skill and confidence to use the fire safety equipment within their workplace during an emergency.
The course covers demonstrating the use of a portable fire extinguisher – both CO2 and water – plus the effective and safe use of a fire blanket. All work in this area must be completed in accordance with relevant legislative, industry, customer and organisational requirements, including work health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Select the appropriate fire extinguisher to attack the fire. Demonstrate usage of fire extinguishers safely according to the manufacturers’ instructions, and in accordance with relevant WHS and workplace policies and procedures.

The face to face training is 2 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of Fire Awareness and the use of fire extinguishers. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.
