The institution approached the director of technical education, maharashtra state and has been recognised & permitted to conduct the diploma course in industrial safety as per the syllabus approved by the maharashtra state board of technical education. The institution has been conducting regular diploma courses at bombay since the academic year 1982-83.
Besides the regular diploma course, the institution has also conducted special diploma courses for industrial establishments of repute such as m/s. Siemens ltd., m/s. Godrej & boyce mfg. Co. Ltd., the national textile corporation ltd., a government of india undertaking, and one outside bombay at panaji, goa.
The institution is planning and is in a position to conduct such recognised diploma courses at several centers all over the
Country.
Several leading Professionals from the field of Industrial Safety promoted the national body of Safety Professionals during the year 1977 and named it the "Institution of Industrial Safety Professionals of India" with their headquarters at Bombay.
The Institution was formally inaugurated on the 19th August, 1978. The Institution is registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950.
The Institution is an independent, non-commercial, non-profit making, non-political service organisation, whose aims are to bring Safety Professionals together and improve their Professional standards.
