Course Details

Fire Safety within an organisation or workplace is a legal requirement (The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005). This requires that all employees are fire safety trained at the beginning of their employment and at regular intervals thereafter. It requires that there are enough trained and appointed personnel on site at any one time. This fully regulated course will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel and allow you to comply with your legal duty as an employer.

Fires in the workplace can have devastating effects in terms of lives lost and injuries to staff, visitors or the public and cause catastrophic property/equipment damage, damage to the environment and also to business continuity. It is believed that virtually all fires are preventable through good practice and well-trained Fire Safety staff.

This course is designed for employees who want a developed and in-depth knowledge of fire safety. It will give comprehensive knowledge of more specific fire safety roles in the workplace that can help manage the risk of fire, for example fire wardens, marshals, and stewards. Candidates will be awarded with a 3-year regulated level 2 (Level 5 in Scotland) Fire Safety qualification (RQF/SCQF).
