Fire Safety Training

The responsible person must ensure that their employees are provided with adequate safety training. This training should occur at the time when they are first employed and on being exposed to new or increased risks.

The level of training required depends on the size of the business, type of work conducted and the results of the Fire Risk Assessment that has been carried out. The training should take place during work hours. A number of selected staff and the competent persons will need to be fully trained to a high level of fire safety.
