Detection or fire alarm systems, smoke control systems, fire-rated construction, building codes and regulations, human reaction towards fire, means of egress, risk and hazard analysis, and fire growth and development.
The Fire Protection Engineering Specialized certificate is intended to provide engineers the base line education and knowledge required for entry into the field of Fire Protection Engineering.
Students will apply their foundational knowledge in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Structural, Architectural or Physical) to develop the analytical skills required to comprehend and implement.
Fire Protection Engineering principles necessary to protect society from fire disasters. Completion of this certificate will also provide the needed fire protection skills to professionals and engineering graduates who are looking to fill any gaps.
Program Highlights
The courses consist of both theoretical and practical skills that complement each other while enhancing the fire protection knowledge of the participants. This certificate program is comprised of four (4) courses, each with a specific focus in an area of Fire Protection Engineering.
These courses will also serve as a complement to students’ abilities including to design buildings compliant with the fire and life safety codes, understand fire development, and design of fire protection systems.
The courses are designed to train an Engineer in the Fire Protection Engineering Field, while complimenting with other engineering disciplines and industrial practices.

Required by OSHA 1910.157 and NFPA, this classroom and hands-on class on fire extinguishers is required annually. If your employee has a fire extinguisher, they must take this class in order to operate it while they are working.
