Current legislation requires employers to ensure that sufficient numbers of staff are prepared to assist in evacuating a premises and take measures for using the firefighting equipment provided. Many businesses accomplish this through the nomination of fire wardens.

The course is delivered in the workplace and follows the nationally accredited syllabus of the Fire Protection Association. The course satisfies the requirements of Article 18 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 with regard to appointing one or more persons to assist in undertaking preventative and protective measures.
