Fire Warden / Marshal Course

This course provides a clear understanding of the responsibilities, duties and role of a Fire Warden/Marshal, conforming to all the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005. Delegates will also be trained to identify and rectify problem areas, with the end result being a safer workplace.

The evacuation of all personnel within a building should be clear and contained in staff guidelines. They should be regularly rehearsed as a part of every evacuation or fire drill and we cover this extensively within the course. 

Syllabus:

• Introduction to the course
• Legislation
• Basic fire awareness (Triangle of fire, media for extinguishing fires etc.)
• Responsibilities of fire wardens / marshals
• Liaison with staff
• Fire fighting equipment: types, uses & method of use (including practical demonstration and student use if required)
• Action before & after the alarm sounds
• Drills & the debrief process
• On-going risk assessments & the need for instant corrective action & reporting defects
• External & internal exits
