This half day course is designed to introduce delegates to the identification of fire hazards, risk reduction measures, fire safety management and actions to take in the event of fire. The practical session enables delegates to choose and operate the appropriate first aid firefighting equipment (extinguishers).

  • Legislation Governing Fire Safety

  • Employer and Employee Responsibilities

  • Fire Risk Assessment

  • Classification of Fires

  • Fire Theory (How fire occurs and the various stages of fire development)

  • Hazard Spotting (Identifying sources of fire and mitigation measures)

  • The Role and Duties of the Fire Warden

  • Provision and Maintenance of Fire Safety Measures

  • Action in the Event of Fire

  • Portable Firefighting Equipment (types/ what they can be used on/ advantages/ disadvantages)

  • Selecting the most Appropriate Extinguisher

  • How to Tackle a Fire Safely

  • Practical Session Involving the use of Extinguishers on Small Fires

 

 

Certification

An in-house training provider certificate will be issued on successful completion of Fire Warden training. Each delegate will be provided with a certificate detailing the subjects covered on the course. In addition, a group certificate will be issued to the company listing all attendees.
