Course Details

Any employee who may have a responsibility for fire procedures within their organisation. Fire Warden / Marshall Training is essential to ensure that employees designated as Fire Wardens or Fire Marshals understand their role and their duties within the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Course Aim:

To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of fire safety, the associated legislation, and the roles and responsibilities of their duties as Fire Marshal /Warden.

Content:

  • Introduction to fire safety

  • Health & Safety legislation

  • Triangle of combustion

  • Classes of fire and methods of extinction

  • Fire Precautions

  • Fire prevention measures

  • Actions to be taken in event of fire

  • Evacuation procedures

  • Means of escape

  • Types of alarms and detectors

  • Fire Marshall/Warden responsibilities

  • Calling the fire brigade

  • Information fire brigade require on arrival

  • Operation of fire extinguishers

  • Fire register and accountability

Training Methods

Classroom based tutorials including discussion, group exercises, supporting videos and commentary. Practical exercises including hands on opportunity to extinguish different types and classes of fire using our environmentally friendly, propane fuelled fire trainer.

Methods of Assessment:

  • Written assessment

  • Practical assessment

Qualification/Certification

  • NPORS or “In House” Certification

Duration:

  • 8 hours

  • Or at one of our sites in South of England.

Additional Information:

For employers requiring plastic cards, an additional charge of £5.00 per person will be levied. Delegates will need to provide a passport photograph at the start of the course.

NPORS Registration is at £17.50 per person.

The content of this course includes awareness of periodic examinations of equipment. This course does not provide full training in maintenance of equipment. Also this course includes awareness on Fire Risk assessment (FRA’s), this course does not enable delegates to carry out FRAs or deem them competent to do so.

For training held at your own location please ensure you make available a suitable room, which can comfortably accommodate with seating the number of delegates attending. We will also require a 240v power supply.
