This course will provide participants with the knowledge, training and practical skills to effectively perform the role and responsibilities of workplace fire warden.
This fire warden training course is suitable for companies and organisations that require selected members of staff to be trained as workplace fire wardens, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage building emergencies.
Participants will learn how to respond to a fire or other incident, raise the alarm, evacuate building occupants, identify themselves as fire wardens and how to assist with post-incident procedures.

Identifying and responding to emergency signals and warnings
Fire, bomb threat, and other emergencies and their effects on the workplace
Human behaviour in fires and emergency events
Initiating and controlling the initial emergency response
Evacuation and assembly principles and procedures
Workplace fireboards and fire equipment location(s)
Making arrangements for people requiring assistance
Fire warden identification techniques
Accounting for all building occupants
Evacuation reporting
Assessing the incident response and applying learnings to improve workplace emergency procedures.
Course Inclusions
Our online course was built from the ground up by industry experts. It is designed to be easy to use, easy to understand and works on multiple devices and platforms.
For face-to-face training, we offer practical, hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.
Each Trainee Must Provide
Participants must
Be at least 15 years of age
Have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills
Have the ability to read and write English
Arrive in suitable attire, including long pants and closed-in shoes if undertaking classroom training.
For online training, participants must:
Use a device that meets the minimum System Requirements of Pinnacle’s e-Learning system (we officially support and recommend modern desktop or laptop computers running Google Chrome web browser).
Other personal devices (e.g. phones and tablets) may be compatible, but due to the variety available, we do not officially support these devices.
Have a stable internet connection.
Use a device that can play sound.

This course combines fire safety training and fire extinguisher training into one. The training increases participants aware of fire prevention and initial response in the event of fire using quick action guides. It also includes information on common fire causes, how to prevent fires
Our 4 hour course is designed to ensure that participants have the skills and knowledge required to implement the emergency response specified in the workplace emergency procedures or specified by a person at a higher level in the emergency control organisation.
