About Mike
As your qualified trainer, I will bring over a decade of EHS experience having worked as a trainer for a Fortune 500 service-based company, an EHS Specialist in manufacturing, and the Safety Manager for one of Colorado’s largest industrial HVAC companies.
At the same time, I’ve spent years studying and applying adult learning techniques that will make each student comfortable in the classroom by creating an environment that is highly participative, entertaining, and relevant to their job.
Fire Extinguishers Training is offered by EDMC Safety & Health. Our hands-on training is achieved by using a fire extinguishing simulator, which provides a realistic fire situation while eliminating the hazards involved with live burns.
This course satisfies the Advanced Firefighting training requirements of STCW Code Section A-VI/3 and 46 CFR 11.201(h), and 11.303(a). Upon meeting the minimum standard of competence in advanced firefighting, a trainee will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties.
Training sessions will discuss the various types of extinguishers. Advantages and disadvantages of each type importance will be discussed and demonstrate. Proper operation of various extinguishers and the type of fires that they are best suited for will be discussed and demonstrated.
The Central Piedmont Fire Protection Technology curriculum is designed to provide you with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors.
