Course Description

First aid knowledge is an invaluable skill for both you as an individual and for your community. Knowing how to provide quick medical treatment whilst waiting for a professional to arrive can save lives.

In an emergency situation whether at home, or in the workplace, do not be a helpless witness. Be the difference between life and death and learn how to save lives.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course students will be able to effectively respond to emergency situations and apply for aid for:

• Allergic reaction

• Anaphylaxis

• Bleeding control

• Choking and airway obstruction

• Strokes

• Respiratory distress, including asthma

• Shock

• Drowning

• Poisoning

• Seizures

• Envenomation, using pressure immobilisation

• Fractures, sprains and strains, using arm slings, roller bandages or other appropriate immobilisation techniques

Course Overview:

• This qualification to be suitable for students who have interest to learn how to provide first aid.

What You'll Learn:

In this course students will learn how to preform single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), care for dislocations, fractures, head, and neck and spinal injuries and provide time-sensitive assistance to people suffering an allergic or anaphylactic reaction. Students will also learn the principles and procedures for first aid management of burns, dislocations, soft tissue injuries and wounds.
