First Aid Courses – Advanced

This comprehensive first aid course has been designed to cover some advanced first aid techniques and methods not found within a standard basic first aid course. 

This course is not associated with NZQA unit standards. The course covers the first aid basics and then builds on this knowledge with advanced training.

We’ll cover:

• Patient assessment
• CPR/cardiac arrest use of defibrillators
• Cardiac education *
• Placement of basic airways *
• Choking
• Basic medical conditions and treatment
• Emergency management
• How to deal with massive haemorrhage
• Wound packing and tourniquets, the use of Celox *
• Self aid and decision making processes utilising equipment in other ways *
• Physical practicals with injuries and debrief post incidents

Advanced skill

We can conduct the course on-site at your location of work. There are no minimum number of participants but we do have a maximum of 16 to ensure a good student to trainer ratio.
