The aim of this course is to train a person to be capable of providing immediate first aid in an emergency situation in order to preserve life, promote recovery and prevent the casualty’s condition from worsening.

We suggest this Level 1 course to those who already have industry safety rescue components built into other training.
Course Objectives
The course contains theory and practical assessments covering the following topics:
Overview of HSW Act regulations relating to accidents in the workplace
Approaching an accident scene – hazard management
Primary assessment – workplace specific
CPR - adult / child / infant
Choking - adult / child / infant
AED operation
Soft tissue injuries – sprains and strains.

Our Workplace First Aid Course is recommended for low-risk workplaces and designed for people who do not need to obtain the 6400 unit standard (Manage first aid in an emergency situation) which is covered in our Comprehensive First Aid Course.
This course provides learners with the ability to demonstrate first aid knowledge and equip them with practical skills to handle a variety of situations where people require basic life support and first aid.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify common emergencies and pre-trip emergency planning for an outdoor activity; demonstrate initial response to emergency care management situations in the outdoors.
