First Aid Level 3 Course

The qualifying learner will be capable of:

• Understanding advanced principles of first aid
• Emergency scene management including triage
• Advanced workplace readiness including scene and patient assessment as well as optimal treatment procedures
• Advanced treatment of life-threatening as well as common injuries using first aid principles
• Applying cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and choking procedures for adults, children, and infants, including the use of the defibrillator
• Treating catastrophic bleeding, wounds as well as burns
• Advanced treatment of head, spinal, chest, abdominal, pelvic, as well as fractures injuries within the environment of the rope access industry
• Dealing with environmental emergencies such as near drowning, poisoning as well as bites, and stings
• Treatment of shock
• Record keeping, and
• Advanced Emergency carry methods
