First Aid is immediate care of an ill or injured person before professional medical help is available. Skills are needed to take care of the 4 As i.e Awareness-Assessment-Action-Aftercare of a victim for immediate assessment to reassure, restore breathing and stop bleeding.
Elementary First Aid (EFA) course is one of the four basic familiarization courses ,which a prospective seafarer must do before proceeding to the sea.
First Aid is the assistance given to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, and/or promote recovery.
