Fit Workshop - Intermediate/Advanced Garment Sewing

Fitting is often the trickiest and most frustrating part about garment sewing. We’ve designed this course for students who have previously sewn garments and are interested in improving the fit of their pants.

Throughout this class, you will make several muslins as you learn which pattern adjustments you need to make. You will not complete a garment but instead, you'll walk away with a final pattern ready for you to make a well pair of pants. 

What you’ll need:

• The Fitting Book by Gina Renee Dunham
• Pants pattern of your choice*
• Swedish Tracing Paper
• Muslin (enough to make 2-3 bodices)
• Contrast thread
• Marking Pen
• Pins
• Rulers (straight and a french curve)
• Scissors
• Notebook, ruler, pencils
• Tape

Tentative schedule:

Class #1: Students will learn how to take proper measurements, make basic adjustments (such as add length or grading between sizes), and cut and sew their first muslin.
