We provide: expertise and plenty of support to get you back on track.
Level:
You bring: yourself, 100 yards of light colored worsted weight yarn and appropriate knitting needles for your yarn. Please knit a swatch with your light colored yarn (we recommend 6"-8" across by 6"-8" tall).
You will also need a crochet hook (any size between E and G), a tapestry needle and a set of double pointed needles. Also, bring the knitting that has you stumped so you can get on track to completing those projects!
Part sewing studio, part fabric and yarn shop, gather here is Cambridge’s only stitch lounge, created to cater to your fiber craft goals. We believe there’s a maker in all of us just waiting to come out and play.
Whether making is part of your family tradition, a new hobby you’re dipping your toes into, or something you just do for fun (so, so much fun) we have a spot for you. We’ll even save you a seat.
Learn to knit tubes on straight needles! This fascinating technique can be used to make open tubes such as glove fingers or mitten thumbs without having to work in the round. We'll even make a double-knit pocket!
In this class you will learn the tools, techniques, and skills required to create your very first crochet project. Open to ages 10 and up.
If you prefer a lesson by yourself, we can book a private lesson, and private rates apply. Classes are for both crochet or knitting, depending on the student's needs. We schedule "Beginner" classes on a rolling basis rather than wait for a specific day in a month.
Students will learn: knit stitch, purl stitch, cast on, bind off, knitted ribbing, seed stitch, and methods to increase and decrease stitches. They will use these skills to make simple fingerless mitts. This class is for anyone who has never knitted or wants a refresher on basic skills.
Quilt Class course is offered by Bernina Sewing Machine Station.
