Flagman Awareness Training

This unit standard is for people who have to ensure that workers, the public and all relevant people are safe when work has to be done on or next to a road in an urban area.

Learning Outcomes:

• Equipment includes but is not limited to temporary road signs, cones, sign stands, lamp stands, barricades, personal safety equipment and equipment to do the work.
• Ensure the safe loading and offloading of equipment and workers on vehicles for transporting.
• Setting out procedures for roads including 2- way roads, sidewalks, one lane intersection, oneway, intersections, dual roads and the closing of one lane.
• Time of roadwork safety. Set-up temporary road signs. Completion of the task.
