Old Town School’s Flamenco program focuses on basic choreography and progressive technique for men and women, including use of the arms, hands, body line, heel work, and the eventual incorporation of castanets and palmas.
The Old Town School of Folk Music teaches and celebrates music and cultural expressions rooted in the traditions of diverse American and global communities.
Founded in 1957, the Old Town School of Folk Music provides a wide range of music, dance, theater, and visual arts courses to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Whatever one's interest, the Old Town School provides broad access to more than 700 accredited class offerings, private lessons, and workshops that span an array of artistic genres.
Flamenco dance originates  from the region of Andalusia in southern Spain and is the classical dance form of many Hispanic cultures.
Flamenco Dance Classes are offered by iDance Studio for all ages and skill level. Our intent at iDance Studio is to ensure that all our students have a wonderful experience in our classes as well as the opportunity to find joy in the art of dance.
This class is for students who have 0-3 months of flamenco experience. Students will be introduced to proper body posture, basic hand and arm movements, basic sounds of the feet, introduction to hand-clapping, and will learn a short choreography with the focus on the palo of Tangos.
Flamenco Dance Classes are offered by San Antonio Ballet School for all ages and skill level.Â
